Now, McCray's Tavern is bringing something truly unique to the Atlanta area with a new barrel of Maker's Mark Private Selection.

We've recently partnered with Maker's Mark distillery out of Kentucky to create another limited barrel run that won't last long! McCray's Maker's Mark Private Selection is our own original infused whiskey, featuring one-of-a-kind notes personally selected by our in-house tastemaker team.
What is Maker's Mark Private Selection?
Maker's Mark Private Selection is a first-of-its-kind barrel program for bourbon with an original custom taste profile. Starting with a fully matured cask of Maker's Mark Premium Bourbon, Private Selection is created by adding up to 10 custom wood finishing staves to each barrel. Each finishing stave imparts unique taste profiles and highlights certain characteristics from the original blend to create unique expressions of bourbon. Barrels are stored in the Maker's Mark Kentucky limestone cellar for continued aging while variations in the wood enhance distinct flavors.
How to drink McCray's Maker's Mark Private Select
Fine bourbon is often served neat, meaning that it is served at room temperature, straight, with no ice or additives. With no other elements to get in the way of rich, aromatic flavors, this often allows tasters to experience the purest appreciation for the spirit. True connoisseurs of bourbon whiskey will often add a few drops of water to enhance the taste. Often referred to as "opening up" the spirit, it's believed to be easier for the palate to experience the full range of flavors and smells imparted by the drink. If you're looking for something more complex, we recommend the classic Old Fashioned. Made by muddling sugar with bitters and water, this simple cocktail highlights the complex flavors of the spirit with a little bit of sweetness.
